# Liquidity Incentives

## How Liquidity Incentives Work

MemeLend uses liquidity incentives to drive participation and enhance platform liquidity. Users who lend or borrow eligible assets may receive additional token rewards via MemeLend, on top of standard interest rates. This mechanism supports a more dynamic and efficient DeFi environment on MemeCore.

#### **Additional Incentives**

* Users earn bonus tokens for engaging in targeted lending or borrowing markets.

#### **Targeted Distribution**

* Rewards can be directed to lenders, borrowers, or both, based on protocol objectives.

#### **Time-Bound Programs**

* Incentive campaigns are typically limited in duration, aimed at temporarily boosting liquidity in key areas.

## Types of Incentives

### Lending Incentives

#### **Purpose**

* Attract liquidity by rewarding users for supplying assets.

#### **Mechanism**

* Lenders earn bonus tokens proportional to deposit size and duration.

### Borrowing Incentives

#### **Purpose**

* Promote borrowing activity for selected assets.

#### **Mechanism**

* Borrowers receive rewards based on borrowed amount and holding period.

## Claiming Rewards

#### **Accrual**

* Rewards accumulate in real-time based on active lending or borrowing positions.

#### **Claiming**

* Users can claim accrued rewards at any time via our interface.

#### **Frequency**

* No restrictions on how often rewards can be claimed.

### Example Scenario

Assume a liquidity incentive program is active for USDC:

* You supply **10,000 USDC** to the protocol.
* **Base APY:** 5% in USDC from standard lending returns.
* **Incentive APY:** Additional 2% in **M tokens** as a reward.

**Total Earnings:**

* **500 USDC/year** from lending interest
* **Equivalent of 200 USDC/year** in M tokens from incentives
